Sredna Gora Mountain
The SREDNA GORA mountains are situated in the central part of Bulgaria, between the Balkan Range and the Thrace plain. The highest peak is Mt. Bogdan - 1604 m. The Sredna Gora Mountains give rise to the rivers Topolnitsa, Luda Yana, Pyasuchnik, etc. The Sredna Gora Mountains are famous for the mineral springs and balneological sanatoria in Hisarya, Pavel Banya, Strelcha, Krasnovo, Banya, Stara Zagora.
Sredna Gora runs parallel to the Balkan mountains and to the south of them with the Valley of Roses nesting between the two. It is rich in beech and fir forests in the higher areas and oak forests in the low parts. The climate is mild due to the shelter provided by the Balkan mountains from the North. The area is famous above all for its many mineral water springs and spa towns - Hissarya, Pavel Banya, Banya, Krasnovo, Strelcha. The small town of Brezovo is rich in history and ideal for quiet rural life.
